My name is Kellie. I am a strong woman because life has forced me to be. I am a survivor of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse. I have been homeless, and I have made six figures; I do not judge someone by their financial status, but by their compassion for others. I am a screaming liberal, in fact I am probably more liberal than anyone currently in office with the possible exception of Bernie Sanders. I am liberal because I believe the character of a nation is shown by how it treats the least among the citizenry; the elderly, the disabled, the orphans, the widows, and the working poor and their families.
I was a bartender in my youth, I put myself through nursing school while tending bar. I worked for twenty years as an LPN in various positions. I have been riding motorcycles since I was 16. I have lived in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, Virginia, Florida, Arizona, Alaska, Hawaii, and Tennessee. I am now disabled and back in Indiana, surrounded by my children and grandchildren.
I am a Christian, but I was not always; however I was always a kind and compassionate person. I try to live it, rather than preach it. This is why I have taken people who have been homeless into my home and tried to give them an opportunity to get on their feet. Donating to a soup kitchen or shelter is fine, but in my eyes it is a far better thing to personally reach out to those in despair.
